Jengyu Lai, DPM

Dr. Jengyu Lai, DPM, is the Chief Manager of Rochester Clinic and has provided podiatric and advanced wound care for more than two decades. Following his residency in Podiatric Orthopedics, he completed a three-year NIH fellowship in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Lai is a Certified Physician Wound Specialist through the Council for Medical Education and Training and a Diplomate of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.

Dr. Lai regularly presents on the integration of lifestyle medicine in wound management—particularly in the prevention and treatment of diabetic foot ulcers—at national and international conferences. He is also actively engaged in community education, presenting a wide range of lifestyle medicine topics at venues such as 125 Live and through media platforms including Midwest Access on KTTC.

In addition, Dr. Lai co-hosts the podcast Healing Steps to Wellness with Dr. J and Mei, where they interview lifestyle medicine experts to share practical knowledge, support healthy habit formation, and inspire pathways to lifelong wellness. Through Rochester Clinic and Lotus Health Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by his wife, Mei Liu, Dr. Lai leads and supports lifestyle medicine initiatives that have received grant funding from the Minnesota Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to advance community-based health, disease prevention, and whole-person care. He is dedicated to advancing the clinical integration and real-world application of lifestyle medicine through education, mentorship, and collaborative projects.
